Wobbling with Style

Step 1 Enhance your wobble.

Enhance your wobble. Once you have the basic steps down, you will want to work on your moves in between each part. You can add more style to your wobble by developing more complex footwork, wobbling different parts of the body, and using your arms.

Step 2 Step forward and cha-cha back.

Step 3 Step up, back, then do a cha-cha step.

Step 4 Mix it up.

Mix it up. You will need to repeat the steps twice during this part of the wobble. As a result, you can mix things up and use a combination of different stepping techniques described above for each turn. You can also mix up how much or little you wobble different body parts, and how animated your arm movements are. Keep it interesting and have fun!

The movement of the hips should be thought of like the pendulum action of a clock. When practicing any step, make sure to feel the hip shift onto the foot you are standing on. Then, you will start to feel the hips moving naturally.

Remember to keep practicing! It's totally normal if you don't nail it on your first attempt, but you will a little practice.

Listen closely to the beat and do your best to move to it. Even if you forget the steps for doing the wobble, you can still dance to the beat and have a good time!

To do the wobble, first hop forward with both feet. Then, wobble in place by swaying your hips and moving your arms to the beat. After 4 counts of wobbling, hop back with both feet and wobble again for another 4 counts. From there, turn to the side, lean back, and wobble for 4 counts. Now repeat on the other side for another 4 counts. Take one step forward with your right foot, one step forward with your left, one step back with your right foot, and one step back with your left. Now do the same steps again but starting with your left foot this time. Next, step back and forth for 8 counts while gradually turning 90 degrees to your left so you're facing a new direction. Now repeat the dance from the top. Once you get through all of the moves again, turn another 90 degrees to your left, and do the dance from the top again. Keep dancing until the song ends! To learn how to incorporate the cha-cha step into the wobble, read on!
